How can you connect to Odoo
Odoo is installed on a device, either on an online web server or more commonly on a local computer with a secure power source so that a connection to Odoo is uninterrupted even when there is an internet outage.
You can always connect to Odoo provided you are within an network that allows you to connect it (perhaps you have to be connected to the company WiFi) and then all you is the webaddress, which is typically an IP address pointing to the server & the port number (8069).
You can connect to Odoo with most modern browsers on any kind of device (Laptop, Desktop, Tablet & Smart Phone) with the Odoo server Web Address. This allows the waiters to take orders on a smart phone as if it was the full POS machine and even print kitchen/manufacture orders from their phone.
